Region 26 never stops learning …Wow - what a great fall for learning opportunities both within and outside our region! In early October, Region 26 presented a virtual regional workshop: Renew, Reboot, Restore, over 20 hours of rich programming, and free to members! We learned from our regional and international leaders. There was something for everyone and many requests for follow-up. The Region made the individual class recordings available to everyone until October 31, ensuring as many members as possible were able to have access to the material. Stemming from that weekend was a follow-up session with Kathleen Hansen for a deeper dive into Diversity and Belonging, which you can view here. Other opportunities this fall (both free and for nominal cost) have included Connecting Creative Minds, a visual leaders workshop from Erin Howden and Judy Pozsgay, and The Holistic Voice Series, presented by voice consultant (and Lions Gate members) Helen Bolton. All members were invited to participate in a virtual International convention, to celebrate Sweet Adelines International’s 75th birthday. Not the birthday party that was planned, but a time to come together and celebrate this “hobby” that we all love. The classes offered are posted on the International website. In addition to formally provided education, individual choruses are finding ways to keep choruses learning and growing by having such guests as Sharon Babb, Diane Porsch, Lynne Smith, Judy Pozsgay, Marcia Pinvidic, Donya Metzger, Corinna Garriock and others at online rehearsal. The possibilities are endless, and the costs are nominal without the travel expenses. We may be physically apart, but Region 26 continues to exhibit its passion for learning, growing and sharing in our love of singing.
