Break out Session #1- Understanding Your Voice and Song Selection (Addresses Music Selection)

In this class we’ll discuss tools singers can use to identify their vocal strengths and brainstorm ideas on how to leverage those strengths in their music selection. We’ll also look at different places to look for music and how to choose music that is appropriate for a chorus or quartet's skill level and that resonates with them as singers.

Break out Session #2- We Rehearsed, Now What? (Addresses Quartet development and Planning and Strategy)

In this class we will discuss ways to make the most of the time between rehearsals- rehearsal techniques to do on your own and how to organize and plan the next rehearsal. We’ll also look at planning long and short term goals and strategies to meet those goals.

Dunc

Break out Session #1- Grunge Work

Description:

Join us while we take you through some of our most effective rehearsal techniques while training our ears and learning how to be our own best coach. We will focus mainly on what we lovingly call “Grunge Work” - an effective exercise to clean up synch, unify vowels, and improve tuning. Be ready to sing!

Break out Session #2- Storytelling

Description:

Unify your quartet or chorus’s storytelling by diving into the deeper meaning and message of a song and assigning verbs to each phrase. We will tie this in with characterization and creating a foundational energy plan.

Afternoon Wrap-Up

Description:

Let’s wrap up a fantastic weekend of camaraderie and song by discussing as a group how to gain confidence as singers! We will discuss how to apply these new skills moving forward. We will also have time for a Q&A to catch up on any questions that attendees may still have at the end of the weekend.
